Use case
One number and one agent per shop
Every shop in your group gets its own phone number and agent, taking orders from that shop's POS menu, prices and hours. No central call centre, and no call passed between shops.
No restaurant uses Zogu yet. As of 5 November 2026 it has only taken test calls for one test restaurant on our integration platform's test system.
Every shop on its own number
Zogu knows the shop from the number called. A call to Church Street is answered with Church Street's name and goes into Church Street's POS.
- The console won't let two shops share a number.
- The greeting says it's the automated ordering assistant, even on a shop's own greeting.
- Each shop can pick from 40 English voices. Tests so far used the default voice.
- An unset or switched-off number hears "Sorry, phone ordering isn't available right now. Please call back later. Goodbye."
- No "press 1 for Church Street" menu, so one group number with a branch choice isn't supported.
There's one US test number and no UK numbers yet, and forwarding a shop's existing line hasn't been tried with a real restaurant. See how Zogu takes a phone order.
Teaching and add-ons per shop
Each shop has its own Teach page, listing phrases its agent couldn't match. Add a store word at North Street ("fries" means "chips") and "medium fries" finds Medium Chips there, but not at Church Street. Menu shorthand like 1/4, 12" and 3pcs works everywhere without teaching.
Add-ons are per shop too: switch them off, or write your own question. Offers come from that shop's desserts, drinks and sides, at most two a call, once the caller is done. On a takeaway test call: "Would you like a dessert? We've got jalebi, ras malai or baklava."
See how teaching and call review work and how add-on offers work.
No transfers
Zogu doesn't transfer calls, to another shop or head office, and never promises a call-back. That's enforced in code as well as in the AI's instructions, because on one test call the AI offered a transfer anyway (the details).
Asked for a person, it says it can't connect them but can take the order. A complaint is pointed to the restaurant. A caller who rang the wrong shop for delivery is offered pickup, not passed on.
One console for every shop
All shops sit in one console, grouped by POS account. Each shop's card shows whether it's online, whether its agent is answering, its number and its call count. The Calls page keeps each call as text, with reply times and the order as sent. No audio is recorded.
The console is internal for now, behind our team's Google sign-in, so our team makes the changes.
Adding a new shop
A new shop is set up on its own, without touching the others.
- Connect Zogu to the shop's POS.
- Publish that location's menus to Zogu.
- In the console, "Link & pull" creates the shop and pulls its menus.
- Check its Menu and Hours pages.
- Assign it a phone number.
- Set its name, voice, add-ons and delivery areas.
Each shop's "Answer calls" switch works on its own.
What isn't ready for groups
We haven't run several shops side by side on real calls.
- Every shop has to be on a POS Zogu works with.
- English only.
- No card details on the call: pay on pickup or delivery.
- Delivery areas use UK postcode prefixes, not US zip codes, and delivery has only run in tests.
- No dine-in, orders for later or complaints.
The full list is on what Zogu doesn't do. If your shops run on Toast, Square, Clover, Oracle MICROS RES 3700 or Foodhub, get in touch with Zogu.
Questions and answers
If a caller is a regular at one shop, will my other shops know them?
No. The agent only looks at earlier Zogu phone orders at the shop they called, so their first call to another shop is a new caller.
Can one shop be taken off the phone without affecting the others?
Yes. Each shop has its own "Answer calls" switch. If the shop's line forwards to the agent, turn forwarding off too, or callers hear the "not available" message.
Does it work for a franchise?
Yes, the same way: Zogu connects to each shop's POS one at a time, and a franchisee with their own account shows as a separate client. No group uses Zogu yet.
