AI phone ordering for Toast

Zogu answers your restaurant's own phone, takes the order and puts it straight into Toast.

What it does for a Toast restaurant

Zogu takes phone orders the way your staff would, and puts them where your staff would.

  • Orders go straight into Toast, so nobody types them in again.
  • The menu comes from Toast: items, options and prices. There's no second menu to keep.
  • Calls come to your restaurant's own number, one number per restaurant.
  • It takes pickup and delivery orders, and table bookings in Zogu's own diary.
  • Regulars are greeted by first name and can ask for "same as last time".

How a call goes

Zogu asks what the caller would like and takes the order item by item. When they're done, it reads the whole order back once with the total and asks for one yes. The order is sent to Toast while the caller is still on the line, then Zogu says goodbye and hangs up without waiting for the kitchen. Step by step: how Zogu takes a phone order.

What it won't do

  • No transfers to staff, ever, and no promised call-backs.
  • No card details by voice. Paying by a texted link is built but not switched on yet.
  • In testing: no restaurant uses Zogu yet, and so far it has only taken test orders.

Getting set up

Zogu connects to Toast through our integration platform and reads your menu from there. We give your restaurant its own phone number, and you ring it yourself to check a test order arrives in Toast. Zogu also works with Square and Clover. Every system is on AI phone ordering for your POS.

Questions and answers

Does Zogu work with my Toast menu?

Yes. It reads the items, options and prices from Toast, so you don't retype anything.

Do I need new hardware?

None of Zogu's setup steps involve new hardware. Zogu answers on its own number and the order arrives in Toast.

What does a phone order look like in Toast?

It arrives with the items and options from your Toast menu, any notes, pickup or delivery, and the caller's name and number.

Will callers know it's automated?

Yes. Every greeting says it's the automated ordering assistant.
